Warm Regards, Preeti Rakhra

As a Registered Provisional Psychologist at Sunshine Medical Centre, I am passionate about supporting adults 18 and older who are facing challenges such as ADHD, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and significant life transitions. My goal is to create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. I believe in building trust through empathy, active listening, and collaboration, helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I am currently in the last stages of my dissertation, completing my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, I blend evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Informed Therapy, to provide effective and individualized treatment. My approach is client-centered, ensuring that therapy remains aligned with each person’s unique needs while regularly assessing progress to encourage personal growth.

In addition to working with individuals struggling with these concerns, I have worked with new mothers experiencing postpartum depression and anxiety. As a mother myself, I understand the emotional and psychological toll that the transition into motherhood can bring. I support new moms in navigating these challenges, helping them develop coping strategies, manage expectations, and regain a sense of balance and well-being during this transformative stage of life.

Additionally, I am committed to providing culturally responsive care to immigrants and newcomers, including refugees, who may be adjusting to new environments while facing unique emotional and psychological challenges. I recognize that cultural identity, past experiences, and personal values play a significant role in mental health, and I strive to provide compassionate support that respects each individual’s background and lived experiences.

Beyond therapy, I am currently training in psychoeducational assessments to help identify cognitive strengths and challenges in children and adolescents between the ages of 6-16. These assessments provide valuable insight into various areas, including academic performance, cognitive abilities, behavioral and emotional concerns, social skills, and overall development.

Seeking psychological support can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to go through it alone. Whether you are facing ADHD, anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, postpartum challenges, or major life transitions, I am here to support you. Together, we can work toward positive change, celebrating progress every step of the way.
